We are Leann and Jim—our middle names rather than our legal names. Both of us had parents who chose one name for us, only for someone else to have other ideas. In Jim’s case, it was his grandmother and three generations of “Jim’s” that changed his fate.

We share this little backstory because, if you meet us on a ship or in the cruise industry, you might hear us referred to as “Greg and Pamela.” And yes, Pamela is pronounced “Pam-ella,” with a slight slur between the M and E—a beautiful intonation often used by our cabin stewards. It was so lovely, I (Pamela) had to adopt it! But I digress...

We’ve been married for over 40 years. I’m a former Army Medical Services Officer who left the military as a captain. I then enjoyed a 30-year career in technology and supply chain management, contributing to the development of much of the modern technology in use today. Leann, with her degree in education, made the rare and invaluable choice to stay home, building a stable foundation for our family and supporting my demanding career. For the last decade, I also taught at The Ohio State University in their logistics program and built my own consultancy.

Two years ago, we sold our home in Columbus, Ohio, and began traveling full-time. We’ve been road and sea warriors ever since. Recently, we decided to take a breather and regroup for a year, channeling all we’ve learned into something meaningful and consumable.
